Hoarders: Lipsticks Edition

If there's one makeup product I don't own much of, it has to be lipsticks. They aren't my favorite makeup to play with but of course that doesn't stop me from hoarding them...

The Stash:

SAM_2862

Count: 14.

In my defense, most of my lipsticks were free! But maybe 14 is a lot for a gal who doesn't wear lipstick often. And no thanks to the Lipstick Bandits, I now want to expand the stash. Thankfully I've got willpower... No really, I do! I'll be sticking to tinted lip balms and stains from now on. They're just so much more easy going!

Now it's your turn, tell me your lipstick count. No judgement here, promise!

Hong Kong Haul - 2011

The verdict is in and it looks like The Ultimate Splurge is going to go unpunished and today, I hope the same goes for the Hong Kong Haul. This haul is planned and only happens once a year too! So again, please remember that I do deserve to spoil myself now and then so.... go easy on me (again), okay? *Inserts innocent puppy dog eyes and hopeful smile here*

Before I begin, I want to share my favorite products from last year's hau
l:
1) Nexcare Acne Dressing - I will review this soon!
2) Hada Labo SHA Face Wash + SHA Lotion + Tamagohada AHA + BHA Face Wash
3) Panasonic Heated Eyelash Curler
4) Kiss Me Heroine Make Mascara in Long & Curl + Volume & Curl
5) Cure Natural Aqua Gel

Big things like the mascaras were never formally reviewed but I'll eventually talk about them. But alas, onto the haul... *Insert whimpering here*

Dejavu Fiberwig Extra Long, Lash Knockout; Fairydrops Platinum Film, Platinum Waterproof, Volume Burst, and HbG (LE)

Now before you judge me, I've got one thing to say: Asian mascaras work best for me so I stock up whenever I can! With that said, I will now decrease my experiments with American/Canadian mascaras. The drugstore aisles can tempt me all they want but I will show restraint, promise!

Canmake Cream Cheek in Sweet Orange [10] & Heavenly Heart [11], Melty Nude Lip in Creamy Nude [02], Baby Pink [03], & Peach Beige [04]

Couldn't resist asking for more Canmake Cream Cheeks though... To confess, I haven't even gone through all of the cream cheeks from last year. I do plan on giving a few away though. Perhaps one or two may even make an appearance in a blog giveaway ;)
But everyone needs the perfect nude lipstick, right? The Melty Nude's are my attempt to find "The One"!

SAM_2496
Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence & Watery Mousse SPF+ PA+++

The "MOM, YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO FIND THIS FOR ME" purchase were the Bioré sunscreens. Sunscreen is a top priority and after reading countless rave reviews, I knew I HAD to try these.

SAM_2534
Hada Labo Air BB Cream, SHA Moisturizing Milk, SHA Moisturizing Cream; Beauty Formula Cucumber Body Cream; T-Sing Magnetic Nail Polish

Lastly, the items pictured above were accidental buy's. This happens each and every year, despite my very clear wishlist! Actually, none of these items were even on the wishlist so this is entirely not my fault.

Fortunately for my mother, this will be my last "big" Asian-cosmetic haul for the next year or two. What with The Ultimate Splurge and a few more items coming in the mail,  I simply cannot justify any more make up or skincare. I am a sick, sick person but at least I'll admit it, that counts for something right?

Right!?

Canmake Cream Cheek

As promised, I'm finally writing about some of the Japanese cosmetics I got from Hong Kong.
Canmake is an extremely cute yet affordable make up line in Japan. However, the brand is ridiculously overpriced online.
If you're interested in Canmake cosmetics and visit Hong Kong yearly, you'll be glad to know that the prices there are nearly on par with the price in Japan!

The Canmake Cream Cheeks have been around for quite some time. They're housed in dainty plastic compacts with a jewel-ish design on the cap.

When it comes to blushes, I prefer creams over powders or liquids such as stains. The Cream Cheek are creamy like whipped mousse make-up but feel slippery near the end. It's no doubt this cream blush is silicone-based but they actually remind me of the Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy Sheerest Cream Blush.

With a total of 11 Cream Cheeks to choose from and owning 9 of them, I have only tried the shade, Coral Orange [07]. The coral orange sounds the most natural out of all the cream cheeks but in the pan, it looks nothing like a coral orange! Then, when applied it appears as a baby pink with too much shimmer and sparkle going on. Color me confused!
The Cream Cheeks all have shimmer to them which Canmake calls a 'Lamé' or 'Pearl' finish. I'd prefer a satin or matte finish but the shimmer isn't too intense but on occasion there will be flecks of glitter which are unbearable, at least for me.

All in all, 07, isn't sheer nor highly pigmented. Cream blushes can be easily overdone but this one can be layered for intensity. Unfortunately, the wear time is a total dud on my dry cheeks; only 3 hours max.

Bottom Line:
The lasting power is weak and the pigmentation is so-so. With no matte or shimmer-free shades to choose from, I'm on the fence with the Canmake Cream Cheeks.
If I were asked to pay $15(CAD/USD)+ on various online shops, I'd say nay. If I can grab more of the Canmake Cream Cheeks around 580 Yen (~$8CAD), I'd say, "Bill me".

Hong Kong Haul

A few months ago I blogged about my parent's going away to Hong Kong for bit. Those few months ago, I promised to post the things I had my mom pick up for me while away in Asia. I'm lazy and I tend to procrastinate so this haul is being posted a little bit later than I had planned but better it's late than never, right? I made a list and checked it twice but somehow my mom managed to buy me more than I had asked for.
Prepare yourselves! Time for collages & picture bombing:

Left-to-Right:
Black pumps, Fujifilm Instax Mini 25 + Winnie the Pooh & Mickey Mouse & Friends film.

Top Left-&-Right:
Shu Uemura Cleansing Beauty Oil Premium A/O Advanced Formula
Bottom Left-to-Right:
Shu Uemura Abracadabra Fantasy Cleansing Oil (LE), CURE Natural Aqua Gel, Hada Labo Tamagohada AHA + BHA Face Wash, Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Face Wash, SHA Lotion, SHA Hydrating Cream, Nexcare Acne Dressing (Acne Patches)

Top Left-&-Right/Bottom Left:
Canmake Gokunobi mascara, Cream Cheek(s), Cheek Gradation, UV White Clear Soft Touch Foundation, Gokibuto mascara, (circle of) Cream Cheek(s)
Bottom Right:
Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner, Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Liner and mascaras

It looks like a lot and I'll admit it is quite a lot.
I never asked for killer black pumps but my mom is just so sweet. My mom really loves shoes, heels and boots. However, she finds herself too old to be flaunting flashy footwear. Thus, she likes to pamper my feet with killer footwear. The Nexcare Acne Dressing is actually my mom's but I use them too. I would have never known about these unless my mom had bought them. I swear, acne patches are incredible and I highly recommend everyone to try them!
Another sweet but oh-so-silly things she did: randomly bought the Shu Uemura Cleansing Beauty Oil (green) and all of the Canmake Cream Cheeks (highlighter/bronzer/blushers). My mom (for some crazy reason) bought every color there was when I only asked for two colors. I'm really happy to have all of them but a few of the shades are too vibrant for my taste *___*.

Good news is that the Canmake Cheek Gradation and foundation were freebies.

Everything else was entirely asked for. I'll definitely do individual reviews but it will be awhile until I can actually do them. I don't want to open everything all at once or it'll go bad... all at once. Nothing left to say so... hope you enjoyed this belated haul from across the seas! If you have any questions, ask in the comments!
