I'm almost out of my favourite cleanser so when Sasa happened to have another free shipping, I had an order ASAP. I was really surprised with how fast this order shipped. It processed in 2 days and arrived 7 days later. Maybe it was a stroke of birthday month luck but shipping is normally never this quick.
Overall, my happiness rating for March is a solid 8 out of 10. It would be a full 10 out of 10 but I was drowning in presentations and papers this month. There was also the case of the cake-less birthday dinner.. but all in all, March was a good month. Wouldn't you agree?
Ever since 2012 started, emptying has been a quick process. There was one week where I managed to empty four full sized body products at the same time. This could possibly be my best record so far. And now that it's a quarter way into the new year, it's time for another epic empties post!

My Beauty Diary Sheet Masks - My new rule is that every 10 sheet masks will count as one full size product. The count today? 10.
Hada Labo SHA Facial Wash - I still really, really love this cleanser and I am sad to see it go. However, the AHA + BHA cleanser is much more effective so I'll be repurchasing that one more over this one.
Marcelle Hydra-C 24H Energizing Hydrating Gel - If you haven't read my review on this fantastic gel moisturizer yet, do it now. It will be the perfect moisturizer during the Spring and Summer. It's refreshing, lightweight and cheaper than my old HG - Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief!
Lip Care
100% Natural Lip Roll-On Coconut* - This isn't actually emptied but I'm tossing it on account of it is a strange lip oil?? I feel nostalgic each time I use the roll on but the actual oil inside isn't moisturizing and rather greasy.
Sweet Leaf Bath Co. Pomegranate Lip Balm* - Also unfinished but I'm tossing it out. My lips used to love beeswax-based lip balms but not so much anymore.
Nivea Milk & Honey Lip Balm - The only lip balm that is actually emptied! I quite like this lip balm and when I thought I had lost it, I bought another tube of it. Soon after, I found the first tube under my car seat. It's cheap and it works, what else can I say?
Hair Care
Suave Professionals Dry Shampoo Spray - This is my second can of Suave's dry shampoo and while I don't use it often, it seems to run out very quickly. It's cheap, it works, I like the scent but it is not available in Canada as far as I can tell. I bought four back ups the last time I crossed the border.
Korres Hair & Scalp Scrub - Discontinued but I'm not mad or sad about it. This stuff sucked big time.
Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner - Average conditioner, not much to say about it. It weighs down my hair if I use it too often and it doesn't fight the frizz too well.
The Body Shop Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter - I love this stuff to death! It's the best deep conditioner/hair treatment I have used to date. It's lighter than most conditioners but I still get that deep hydration my hair craves. It fights the frizz, the scent isn't too salon-ish.
Body Care
The Body Shop Earth Lovers Apricot & Basil Shower Gel - I thought I liked the smell of Apricot & Basil until half way through the first bottle, I realized I don't. And by first bottle, I mean that it's the first of three to go.
Lush Honey I Washed the Kids - "Mmmmm" is all I can ever say when I smell Honey I Washed the Kids. The scent doesn't last long but it's enough to make me want to eat my own arm off.
Soap & Glory Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em - UGH. Have I mentioned how mad I am that Soap & Glory prices were raised? I have? Well I'm still pissed. For $20+, I say pass on this body exfoliator. It melts quicker than I can spread the stuff over my body. Between Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em and Scrub, Actually, the latter is much more worthwhile. It works and the squeeze tube packaging is easier to handle in the shower.
eos Refresh Hand & Body Lotion - I will forever hate the smell of this lotion but forever love the formula. If you've ever tried the hand lotion, they're exactly the same. As I hand lotion, I own and use better but as a body lotion, it's great for the warmer seasons. The lotion delivers the perfect amount of hydration without any residue. It spreads easily and it's also fast-absorbing. Though, the SO whom has acute dermatitis can't use this lotion. Each time he's used it, he break out in itchy hives.
Deluxe Samples
Elizabeth Grant Biocollasis Complex Gentle Cleanser - When Luxe Box was still called Loose Button, I jumped on the subscription band wagon. In my box was this cleanser. The cleanser has a thin, fluid consistency similar to the Korres White Tea fluid cleanser. However, this cleanser turns into a foamy, drying mess. Although the cleanser is touted to re-balance the skin's natural pH, it does the opposite for me. Do not recommend.
Avène - No idea what this stuff is called but it's one of Avène's makeup removing lotions but with a gel texture. I hate it.
Sonia Kashuk Eye Makeup Remover - Love, love, love! To be fair, I will officially review this eye makeup remover when Canada opens its first Target.
Korres Vitamin E Face Primer - No matter what moisturizer I used underneath, this primer would always pill. Instead of a smooth canvas, I ended up with little bits on my face and my foundation would look uneven and streaky.
One 'n Only Argan Oil - My hair dresser gave this oil treatment way back when my hair was damaged to no end. Of course, I forgot to use it until now and even with my healthier hair, I find this argan oil to be "meh". Dimethicone is the very first or second ingredient listed in the back while "argan oil" is further down. This probably explains the "meh" response my hair had.
Pond's Evening Sooth Wet Cleansing Towelettes - Surprisingly good but I won't be repurchasing. Pond's still tests on animals *sadface*
Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser - No good. NO GOOD!
Nexcare Acne Dressing - I am waiting for the perfect angry pimple to review the Nexcare Acne Dressing, I swear. These little sticker things are magnificent and everyone and anyone needs an emergency pack on hand!

Lastly, the samples I managed to plow through (not many) since January. I mainly focused on hair shampoo & conditioner packets and now it's time to go through some tinted moisturizers and foundation samples. I have many skincare samples to go through too but I'm happy with my regimen at the moment. Time to tally!

Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence & Watery Mousse SPF+ PA+++
The "MOM, YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO FIND THIS FOR ME" purchase were the Bioré sunscreens. Sunscreen is a top priority and after reading countless rave reviews, I knew I HAD to try these.
Hada Labo Air BB Cream, SHA Moisturizing Milk, SHA Moisturizing Cream; Beauty Formula Cucumber Body Cream; T-Sing Magnetic Nail Polish
Lastly, the items pictured above were accidental buy's. This happens each and every year, despite my very clear wishlist! Actually, none of these items were even on the wishlist so this is entirely not my fault.
Fortunately for my mother, this will be my last "big" Asian-cosmetic haul for the next year or two. What with The Ultimate Splurge and a few more items coming in the mail, I simply cannot justify any more make up or skincare. I am a sick, sick person but at least I'll admit it, that counts for something right?
Right!?
Now and then, Sephora will have guest make up artists or skincare consultants from specific brands to talk to and examine customers needs. Late in July I stumbled upon a very sweet Murad specialist and was swayed by her ravings. Have I ever mentioned how much I hate falling for recommendations by skincare consultants? The products they recommend me usually perform like crap. Case and point: the Murad Sensitive Skin Soothing Serum.
I'll give the Soothing Serum this, it really is safe to use on sensitive skin. When I was fighting the nastiest cold of 2011, I couldn't use many creams or gels around my nose as they'd burn the very raw and irritated area. The serum was safe to use though - no stinging, no burning, nothing.
Where it all goes downhill is the lack of redness relief. Murad claims that their serum will decrease irritation and redness but my redness never went away! No matter what the circumstances were, the serum just didn't work. While I know I have broken capillaries that runs deep under my skin which can never be treated, even the spontaneous blotching couldn't be calmed.
Lastly, this serum should be dubbed "liquid moisturizer" or "lotion" instead as I expect serums to do more than moisturize. The texture is similar to the HadaLabo SHA Lotion but it is slightly thicker and sticky. While it isn't as hydrating as HadaLabo it does do a good job on it's own. I wouldn't wear this under foundation, tinted moisturizers or BB creams though because they'll turn into "eraser bits". I strictly use this as night time moisturizer because of this issue.
As a serum/liquid moisturizer, this stuff is expensive. Imagine paying $49.50 for a 1.0 fl. oz. bottle that lasts a mere 2 months and doesn't live up to the claims.
Bottom Line:
I do not recommend the Murad Sensitive Skin Soothing Serum. It's overpriced for what it does(n't) do and while it certainly didn't hurt my skin , it didn't "soothe" what I needed it to either.

Looking back now, I see that the HadaLabo GOKUJYUN Face Wash was pure infatuation. Real love lies within the HadaLabo TAMAGOHADA AHA + BHA Face Wash.
"Tamago" means egg in Japanese and "hada" means skin. With TAMAGOHADA, you are meant to achieve egg like skin - the boiled and peeled kind. Clean, smooth, and clear skin? I am all for it.
"HadaLabo TAMAGOHADA Daily Face Wash is infused with some keratin softening agents like AHA and BHA, which help to remove blackheads and impurities inside pores. It also improves dull skin tone and rough texture, leaving skin supple and smooth. Weak acid, low irritation, no fragrance, oil and alcohol."
I don't know which AHA HadaLabo is using but whether it's lactic or glycolic, it's gentle yet effective. The salicylic acid (BHA) must be in a very low concentration too because I haven't suffered tightness after using the cleanser. It painlessly washes away dry patches and fades scars quickly to but if it weren't for the crappy availability (it's essentially an online only product outside of Asia), I wouldn't cheat on it.
Available on Sasa for around $10USD/CAN. It's relatively cheap but adding shipping fees makes it relatively expensive. Look out for $29 free shipping deals but there's the usual $50 free shipping deal if you're impatient.
Bottom Line:
Isn't it obvious I'd recommend this? It's unbelievable how much I love this cleanser but combined with the HadaLabo GOKUJYUN Lotion, I've got the ultimate combination. Some might say it's the bread & butter of skincare!
The last Hada Labo GOKUJYUN product I have to review is the Moisturizing Cream.
This moisturizer is my least favorite Hada Labo product but it's worthy of a short review nonetheless.

Hadalabo is a newly mutually-developed brands operated by Rohto (Japan) and Mentholatum (USA), with the concept of 'Perfect & Simple’. They bring you a series of skincare products with the highest purity of ingredients under strict quality control.
HadaLabo GOKUJYUN Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion is infused with super hyaluronic acid which deeply penetrates into skin. It keeps on moisturizing and softening skin, meanwhile enhancing skin’s water-binding ability, leaving skin supple, smooth and radiant. Weak acid, no fragrance, and no colorant.
Same as the cleanser and lotion, the moisturizer is loaded with "super hyaluronic acid" but free of fragrance and colorant. Read the two reviews here and here.
The texture is that of a thick gummy-gel. Since the texture is thick and the formula is extremely hydrating, my face is left feeling and looking positively soft and hydrated the morning after I use it.
What I despise about the product is the application. It drags, literally. Half way through massaging the cream in, it'll get tacky and the tackiness prevents the cream from absorbing fully or allowing my fingers to glide smoothly across my face.
Thus, only 50% of the moisturizer absorbs and the remainder sits on top of my skin. You can only imagine how shiny my face looks. It's fine for night time but a definite no-go during the daytime even for the driest of skin. While there's noticeable shine, the feeling is more sticky than oily.
Housed in a jar, the packaging isn't too efficient or hygienic. The price however is commendable; less than $15USD. My mom paid $100HK/$13CAD for my jar at Bonjour. It's much cheaper than the Clinique Moisture Surge gel-cream and the results are the same.
Bottom Line:
Don't waste your effort hoarding this Hada Labo GOKUJYUN Moisturizing Cream. Make a bee line for the GOKUJYUN Lotion instead. Seriously, why haven't you picked up the lotion yet??!
After reviewing the Hada Labo GOKUJYUN Face Wash, it would only make sense to review the Hada Labo GOKUJYUN Lotion which is the follow-up toner. To simplify things, I'll start calling this lotion the SHA Lotion but let me also cover some other things:
1) Hada Labo keeps it simple with the ingredients they use. You'll find that their skincare range is free of fragrances, colorants, mineral oil, and alcohol; a suitable option for sensitive skin.
2) Lotions are a type of toner that are gentle on the skin and prevent moisture loss. In some cases, lotions can provide an extra boost of moisture which this SHA Lotion happens to do.
3) Yes, I live in Vancouver but no I did not purchase the SHA Lotion within Canada.
My mom bought the lotion for $85HKD in Hong Kong; roughly $10CAD. Check out Sasa's website if you're sincerely interested in trying out Hada Labo products.

What's Jell-O water?
Imagine making Jell-O but not all of the Jell-O hardens and you're left with drops of runny Jell-O mix. It's not quite water but it's not a jelly; it's Jell-O water!
The application is fun - I pour 3 drops of the lotion into the palm of my hands and gently pat the lotion onto my skin as instructed. My face becomes bouncy and sticky with continuous but the latter subsides after a minute or so and then I'm left with soft and supply skin!
As wonderful as the SHA Lotion is to my dry skin, practically any skin type can benefit from this lotion as the consistency is so thin and the product absorbs without a hint of shine or residue. If your skin is in need of a quick fix, the lotion can also be used as a face mask - all you need are cotton masks. Perhaps combination to oily skin types can even use the lotion as a light moisturizer.
Remember, it only takes 3 drops to cover the entire face and the consistency is thinner than the average gel-cream, see?
More great news - the 170 ml bottle which costs roughly $10CAD can last up to 8 months even if used twice daily. I have been using my bottle since January and only now has it hit the half bottle mark!
Bottom Line:
I'd say "run, don't walk to your nearest Hada Labo retailer & grab a bottle of this lotion" but that's not possible for many of us. The Hada Labo brand is only (officially) available in Asia. However, if there's a way to pick up a bottle of this magical liquid, do it because I recommend this product 100%. The price is right and the product does not disappoint!

After 4 months of using Hada Labo GOKUJYUN Face Wash or better known as HadaLabo Super Hyaluronic Acid Face Wash, it's about time for a review. Plus, I need to show my readers some sign of life! Don't worry, I'm not dying and I haven't been sick, I simply took an unannounced break from blogging :)
Another FYI - this facial cleanser is not readily available for most people. My greatest advice: do not purchase Had aLabo products in-stores from unofficial retailers at inflated prices - you are being ripped off. Sasa sells most Hada Labo products online at an honest price.
**My mom purchased the Hada Labo SHA Face Wash in Hong Kong for $58HKD/$7CAD (no more than $8CAD)**.
Now let's begin the review!

First and foremost, "Gokujyun" translates to "Super Hydration". The"Super Hyaluronic Acid" helps improve the moisture rention of skin twice as much as regular Hyaluronic Acid.

Hada Labo GOKUJYUN Face Wash is infused with super hyaluronic acid. It cleanses face while locking water inside skin. It will not irritate skin with the weak acid same as healthy skin’s. No fragrance, no colorant, no alcohol and is oil-free.
Suitable for ALL skin types.
As you can tell, the Gokujyun line is all about hydration. While the Hada Labo SHA Face Wash is "hydrating", I think it's suitable for all skintypes. I fully agree to Hada Labo claims that this cleanser is gentle and non-irritating to the skin while locking moisture in. I have not experienced tightness after using the cleanser and neither has it dried out my skin. It's not necessary to follow up with a moisturizer right away which is saying a lot.
This simple cream cleanser lathers into a milky foam and rinses off easily. While it's perfectly fine to use the cleanser around the eye area, I have to be careful not to get any of it IN my eyes. Once the cleanser gets into my eyes, it causes slight sensitivity. The sensitivity is a mixture of burning & stinging but it's not intense. I can only describe as if you tried a new eye drop and your eyes were adjusting to it. Luckily, the cleanser has not caused any other irritations or breakouts. I should also mention that I normally break out due to hormonal changes and rise in stress rather than product sensitivity.
Most importantly, the Hada Labo SHA Face Wash leaves my skin smooth and soft yet impeccably clean. I do not rely on this cleanser to remove make-up - just excess oil and dirt - but it does remove lighter layers of make-up. Full coverage make-up can not be efficiently removed. But despite the "no fragrance" claim, I detect a light scent of rice. It's soothing like oatmeal?; definitely not nauseating or cloying.
Bottom Line:
I recommend you grab a tube of Hada Labo GOKUJYUN/Super Hyaluronic Acid Face Wash if you can. I think anyone would enjoy a cleanser that doesn't cause tightness, excessive-dryness or breakouts but instead, leaves you with soft and supple skin. I can't provide an English ingredient list but I have taken pictures of the entire bottle so translate it if you can/like. You can view them below.

It looks like a lot and I'll admit it is quite a lot.
I never asked for killer black pumps but my mom is just so sweet. My mom really loves shoes, heels and boots. However, she finds herself too old to be flaunting flashy footwear. Thus, she likes to pamper my feet with killer footwear. The Nexcare Acne Dressing is actually my mom's but I use them too. I would have never known about these unless my mom had bought them. I swear, acne patches are incredible and I highly recommend everyone to try them!
Another sweet but oh-so-silly things she did: randomly bought the Shu Uemura Cleansing Beauty Oil (green) and all of the Canmake Cream Cheeks (highlighter/bronzer/blushers). My mom (for some crazy reason) bought every color there was when I only asked for two colors. I'm really happy to have all of them but a few of the shades are too vibrant for my taste *___*.
Good news is that the Canmake Cheek Gradation and foundation were freebies.
Everything else was entirely asked for. I'll definitely do individual reviews but it will be awhile until I can actually do them. I don't want to open everything all at once or it'll go bad... all at once. Nothing left to say so... hope you enjoyed this belated haul from across the seas!
